Two murals for Blackbaud’s offices in North Austin! The design is a symbolic narrative of Blackbaud’s mission through the lens of my visual world. Blackbaud provides cloud computing and software support for nonprofits, schools, healthcare organizations, and other sectors working for social good. Their goal is to “power an ecosystem of good that builds a better world”. Within Blackbaud they have developed a visual language using diamond shapes to represent the various sectors of social good that they support. In my mural, the “Cloud Farmers” are gathering and connecting diamonds from the sky to power their own magical ecosystem.

I actually designed these murals before the pandemic took hold. Strangely the call to “build a better world” feels much more urgent and relevant now than when I created the designs. I’m so thankful for the opportunity to work during this scary time. And I hope to continue creating work for individuals and companies that are working to heal our little community of earthlings that is so fractured right now. We need to keep supporting and inspiring each other with our actions, our words, and our art.
